Background
I come from a very large family where I am the youngest grandchild out of 23 grandchildren. Growing up around an old school, large family, I was forced to learn how to appropriately communicate from a young age. Whether I was talking to my cousins, or my eighty-year-old great aunts, I learned to initiate conversations and be able to talk with anyone.
Tee Time
After finishing my athletic career in high school, I felt lost. There was no escape I felt while playing competitve sports. Since I was a freshman in high school, I have worked at a golf course. Socializing with avid members, I was introduced to the golf world. I started going to the driving range, and this soon became my safe space. Being able to turn my phone off and go to the driving range helps me decompress and mentally refocus. Some of my best ideas come after hitting a bucket of balls.
